Play Terraria in the cloud
Want to play Terraria but don't have a gaming PC? Rent a cloud rig by the hour, install Terraria with your own Steam account, and play it from any browser.
Terraria runs beautifully on a rented RigRentals rig. Because it's a single-player title, it works great through our built-in launcher — you sign in with your own Steam account, it installs, and you play. No gaming hardware of your own required.
The RTX 3060 rig at $1.50/hr is our recommended tier for Terraria; step up to an RTX 4090 or 5090 if you also want to play more demanding titles in the same session.
What Terraria needs on a rented rig
Terraria fits in the included 50 GB with room to spare. 2 hours on an RTX 3060 rig at $1.50/hr comes to $3.00.
| Approximate install size | ~1 GB |
|---|---|
| Included disk | 50 GB on every rig |
| Storage add-on | Not needed |
| Recommended rig | RTX 3060 ($1.50/hr) |
| Genre | 2D sandbox survival |
| Controller | Controller supported, though most play with mouse and keyboard. |
Install size is approximate and changes with patches -- check the game's Steam page for the current figure before you pick a storage option.
Which rig for Terraria?
Terraria is 2D and runs on almost anything -- the rig is far more machine than it needs.
Worth knowing before you start
Multiplayer works, but remember the rig is destroyed when your hours run out: back up your worlds from /home before the session ends, or use the file browser to download them.
